Ready or not price10/11/2023 ![]() You just go in there to neutralize suspects and rescue civilians, more or less. You go straight into the action without really knowing the layout of the buildings. The game is currently very repetitive, even if the suspects are randomly placed every time. You would be buying it to support the development. What I can say for you is, if you have the patience to wait 1 or 2 years for it to become ready, then you can definitely buy the game. Since they are not a huge game development studio, updates are not released quickly and are usually small changes. Ready or Not is a promising title with potential in it. I generally tend to give games in development the benefit of the doubt. I have played the SWAT series since it was released SWAT4 and the Stetchkov Syndicate. I'd wait til more content comes out for this game before buying it, personally. ![]() I work hard for my money, and naturally expect more for my $$$ than fan boys would. If playing the same few levels over and over and over going for a new high score like a quarter-fed arcade machine suits you for $35, more power to you. Hardly anyone plays the test maps, and they're mostly just developer textures. So far only 2 of the finished maps have all game modes unlocked right now. And no, not every map has every single game mode unlocked yet. If that's enough for you to be comfortable spending $35 for, then that's a pretty low bar. Like the other guy said, there's 7 completed maps (half are relatively small maps). I don't give a shit if I get downvoted, it's my valid opinion and I'm warning you about the lack of dev made content because that's why all of my friends walked away from this game after we put about 20 hours into it. I’ve played it a while too, and while it isn’t on par with RoN in terms of AI, sound quality, and general quality of life things, it’s pretty cheap for what it offers. ![]() An alternative to RoN would be Zero Hour. Definitely worth the money since it beats out most AAA shooters these days anyway. Overall, the game is a really good SWAT simulator. The enemy AI is an actual threat, which is good and what makes this game stand out, but can also just randomly stand there and do nothing while you’re shouting at them. Your squad AI can be incredibly OP when clearing a room but also super dumb when opening doors. Like someone said before, the AI is somewhat an issue. Hotel Bomb Threat is the best example of this. This kind of takes away the excitement of breaching into an unknown room, although not using the mirror gun somewhat counters this. Once you play enough of the levels, you start to memorize which rooms normally have suspects and which don’t. Having your squad C2 a door and then toss flash-bangs in is ab-sol-utely mesmerizing. This point is especially true on your first few play-throughs of each level. The planning and execution of room clearing is just so fun and never gets boring. The audio is top-tier the flash-bangs are my favorite because they sound so loud. There is no PvP experience yet, so I’ll talk about the PvE experience.Īs a PvE experience, the game is a breath of fresh air for the FPS genre. Personally, I think this game does what it sets out to do exceptionally well.
